2. Smoothing the DC output

Once converted, the pulsating DC power is fed into a DC busbar where it is stabilized into a steady voltage. This smoothing process uses capacitors to eliminate fluctuations in the DC signal.

3. Inverting DC back to AC

The smoothed DC power is then sent to an inverter, the heart of the VFD system. The inverter uses insulated-gate bipolar transistors (IGBTs) to convert DC power back into AC. By modulating the switching patterns of the IGBTs, the inverter generates AC power with adjustable frequency and amplitude, providing precise motor control.

4. Supplying power to the motor
