Daily Maintenance Of Soft Starter

Soft starter is precision electronic product. Under the influence of temperature, humidity, smoke as well as the aging of its internal components and other factors, it may lead to various faults of the soft starter. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct daily inspections and regular maintenance of the soft starter during storage and use.  

When soft starter is in operation, observe below situations.

1. Whether the motor has any abnormal sound and vibration.

2. Whether the soft starter and motor heat up abnormally.

3. Whether the ambient temperature is too high.

4. Is the load current value same as usual.

5. Whether the cooling fan of soft starter is operating normally.

When soft starter is powered off for maintenance, check below situations.

1. Check for loose screws and overheating signs at the connection of main circuit cable or copper busbar.

2. Check whether the joints of control wires are loose and the insulation wrapping at the connection is aged or detached.

3. Thoroughly clean the dust on circuit boards and air ducts etc., and take anti-static measures during cleaning.

4. For insulation testing of soft starters, all connecting wires must be removed first, and main circuit terminals must be reliably short circuited with wires before ground test. Strictly prohibited to perform insulation testing on a single main circuit terminal to ground or there is a risk of damaging soft starter. Do not perform insulation testing on the control terminals, as it may damage the soft starter. After the test is completed, remember to remove all wires that short-circuit the main circuit terminals.
